Snow finch

Snow finch in Val Thorens

The snow finch is an attractive Alpine bird, familiar to skiers who frequent mountain restaurants. It's not a true finch, but a member of the sparrow family.

Snow finches are found between 2,000 and 3,000m altitude, in the Alps, and in other mountain ranges including the Himalayas.
