An independent guide to Val Thorens
Le Bowling in Val Thorens is a venue which offers lots of activities. As well as ten pin bowling, there are arcade games, pool, an internet café, and big screen TVs, which Le Bowling uses to show sporting events like European football matches, and the World Cup Skicross races of local champion Jean-Frédéric Chapuis. There's also a bar called La Bicicleta, and late-night bar La Chapelle. Le Bowling is a great facility in Val Thorens, with quite a lot of space, and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Le Bowling is at place de l'Arche, on the road behind Zenith Ski Shop and le Malaysia. It's open every day from 12 noon to 2am.
There are eight ten pin bowling lanes. It costs €12 per person per game, or €20 per person for two games (2016-17 prices). You can book by phone (00 33 479 22 25 57).
Amongst the arcade games, there's table football and air hockey. There's also pool, which is €15 per hour, plus a €20 deposit for the cues.
There's a lively bar known as la Bicicleta, with 'rustic' wooden tables and chairs. You can have a drink there whether you're bowling, watching a football match on the big screens, using the wifi to read your emails, or there just for a drink. Service at the bar, and table service.

There' an ice circuit in Val Thorens, for car and motorbike racing. The main race of the winter is the Trophée Andros, in early December. The Ice Driving Academy offers people the opportunity to have a go on the Alain Prost ice circuit.
