This guide has ideas for a route from Val Thorens via Méribel
Mottaret (and Méribel) to Courchevel, and suggests two main
options in Courchevel - based on Courchevel Moriond and
Courchevel 1850. Le Praz and/or La Tania can be added on.
There are a couple of lunch recommendations, and notes on two
possible ways back.
Where to start on your first skiing day in Val Thorens - the
magic carpets and the beginners' pistes, the green runs, the
Funslope, and the easiest blue runs.
There's to be a new blue piste from the Cime de Caron, and a
black in the Boismint sector. Chalet Cocoon opens its doors, and
there's a new airborne route back to resort. Read about what's
new in Val Thorens in winter 2018-19.
The best webcams, so you can check
out conditions in resort before you arrive, and even have a look
at the top of the mountain while you're eating breakfast, to see
if it's clear high up.
ValThorensGuide's recommendation for quality
ski and snowboard hire at fair prices - Zenith ski shop,
in the centre of resort. You may be able to find cheaper ski
hire, but at Zenith there's a guarantee of quality equipment and
excellent service.
A guide to all the ski schools in Val
Thorens, including the ESF, Ski Cool, Prosneige, Evolution
2, and Free School Attitude.
