An independent guide to Val Thorens

There were record numbers of skiers for the opening weekend of the Winter season 2021-22 in Val Thorens.
France 3 Auvergne Rhône-Alpes TV reports that there wasn't much snow on the weekend of 20th and 21st November 2021, but people still had fun.
There were about 10,000 skiers per day - more than ever before in Val Thorens.
The Face Ouest restaurant in Place Caron was very busy, with 400 meals served per day.
The ski shops fear that foreign skiers - who represent 60% of the resort's clientele - could be absent. They are crossing their fingers that they will have a reasonable season.
Face masks are obligatory in lift queues and in the lifts themselves. The lift company says it can't check the pass sanitaire of every skier.

Skiing Made Easy is a Kindle ebook and paperback. It's a practical guide to learning to ski, based on many happy seasons of ski teaching in Val Thorens. Most of the demonstrations are performed by my friend and fellow Val Thorens ski instructor Marina.
