The ski doos in Val Thorens (snowmobiles) are based at a hut in place Caron. They offer one-hour guided ski doo rides on a circuit of around 20km on the pistes. There's a guide on the lead ski doo, and usually five or six ski doos driven by participants, following.
The ski doos are Yamaha Venture Lites, 500cc, 4 gears. Recently, they've been fitted with coloured 'light sabres', which identify which snowmobile is with which guide, and make them more visible from a distance, possibly helping to promote the activity.
