An independent guide to Val Thorens

Find out about Val Thorens Snowpark.
The VT Park is next to the Plateau draglifts, see the Val Thorens piste map. It has boxes, rails and jumps and it is for intermediates and experts.
There is a separate Family Park in the 2 Lacs area.
The main snowpark is called VT Park.
Looking at the park, it is arranged into 'corridors', with black on the left (skiers' right), then red then blue.

There are two ways in. The entrance to the black and red corridors is right by the top of the drags. For the easier jumps on the side of the park, turn right at the top of the Plateau draglifts, and go a short way down the Plateau piste to the entrance.
The black corridor has some big kickers.
There are sometimes competitions in the Val Thorens Snowpark, such as the French Championships SlopeStyle in April 2013, shown in this video.

There's an easier Family Park in the 2 Lacs area of Val Thorens.
The Family Park has small jumps and easy boxes, ideal for taking the first steps in freestyle in an unthreatening environment.
Next to the park is the VT Fun Ride.
