Val Thorens Snowpark

Snowpark in Val Thorens

Here, we have information about Val Thorens Snowpark, with photos and a video. The Snowpark has a wide range of jumps, as well as boxes and rails. Since winter 2015-16, there has been a separate Easy Fun Park.

The Val Thorens Snowpark is next to the Plateau draglifts. You can find it on the Val Thorens piste map

Expert Snowpark

The main Snowpark became the 'expert' Snowpark in winter 2015-16. Looking down at the expert park from the top, it is arranged in four 'corridors', with black (the hardest jumps) on the right, then red, blue, and finally the green (easy) part on the left.

There are two ways in: the entrance to the black and red corridors is right by the top of the drags; for the easier jumps on the left hand side of the park, turn right at the top of the Plateau draglifts, and go a short way down the Plateau piste to the entrance.

From 2016-17, the Val Thorens Snowpark is managed by QParks (see the tourist office 2016-17 update), who pay particular attention to optimising the beginners' zones, and who have created an extended medium zone. In total, there are twenty extra modules.

The black corridor has some big kickers.

Freestyle ski competition, Val Thorens Snowpark

There are sometimes competitions in the Val Thorens Snowpark, such as the French Championships SlopeStyle in April 2013, shown in this video:

Since winter 2015-15, there's a new Easy Snowpark on the other side of the Plateau piste (skier's left), with small jumps and easy boxes, ideal for taking the first steps in freestyle in an unthreatening environment. This has been expanded and improved by QParks from winter 2016-17.
