There's:
In December 2022 the fully refurbished sports centre in Val Thorens, le Board, will open. I believe it gets its name from the fact that it looks a bit like a snowboard from above.
The roof of the sports centre is an outside space at the level of place Caron, with space for 3,000 people. It will host events.
The sports centre offers all that it did before - gym and fitness room, aqua and wellness area, fun park - and more. There's now a multipurpose arena that can host sports including volleyball, badminton etc, or events and shows.
A space dedicated to seminars and business events, with an auditorium seating 446 people, has been added to the sport centre's facilities.
The Hotel Fitz Roy has added 14 new rooms and suites, making it a 72-room hotel.
Also, Fahrenheit 7 has redecorated about half its rooms, the Hotel 3 Vallées has renovated its rooms one by one over a 3 year period, and the Altapura has new owners and has added some new design touches to the public areas.
The Hotel Val Thorens' bar is now called 1971, and is decorated in 70s style. The bar in le Portillo is called le Perchoir, and offers 20 different gin cocktails.
Next to the Campagnol magic carpet there will be a piste for snowtubing. Hire a rubber ring and slide down the bumpy slope.
€14 per 30 mins, €18 per hour.
Gilles Ayral and his son are setting up in place Caron, as the first barbers in Val Thorens.
