Face West Café
Arguably the best restaurant in Val Thorens, Face West
Café (formerly
Le Scapin) has been run by brothers Piers and Hendrik for many years.
They have one of the best locations, in the centre of resort; the décor
has been recently updated, but retains traditional elements of wood and
local stone; and the food is consistently excellent.
The menu includes Savoyarde specialities, pizzas (€13-€20) from a wood-fired pizza oven, pasta, meat (from about €25) and fish. The tarte tatin dessert is delicious. Here's the full menu and wine list.
Booking is recommended, for example if you wish to eat inside at lunchtime on a bad weather day; and in the evening, especially towards the end of the week.
