Val Thorens news: opening weekend 2014/15
Val Thorens opened at the weekend, with the official opening on Saturday 22nd November 2014, although a few lifts were already open on Friday 21st November. The conditions were quite good for the opening weekend in Val Thorens. Lifts open included Deux Lacs, Cascades, Funitel Peclet, Moraine, the new Portette, and Plateau. There were fifteen pistes open.
The Dauphiné newspaper reported that there were 8,000 skiers in Val Thorens on Saturday, with 15,000 expected for the weekend as a whole.
The opening weekend coincided with the Ski Force Winter Tour, an event organised for ski brands who offer free tests of their latest models.
