Ski Force Winter Tour 2012
It was the official opening of Val Thorens on 24th November 2012, with the Ski Force Winter Tour in town. Ski Force is an event, where ski manufacturers set up their tents, and offer free tests of their latest skis.

The Ski Force village was set up at the bottom of the Castor & Pollux magic carpets, with loads of skis to choose from - including Fischer, Salomon, Elan, K2, Dynastar, and many more.
The
ski tests are completely free - you just sign up in the Maison de Val
Thorens, at the tourist office. They ask you to fill out a form, giving
them your contact details. They then insist on taking a photo of each
person, which is slightly creepy. We feel they haven't got the balance
right between their wish to obtain details for publicity and marketing
purposes, and the need to avoid excessive intrusion.

The conditions remain very good, given it's early season, and there's limited natural snow. About 30% of the ski area was open, including Cascades, Funitel Peclet, Fond, and Funitel Grand Fond.
There was a good number of skiers around, leading to a short wait for some lifts.

The Ski Force Winter Tour remains in Val Thorens tomorrow, Sunday 25th November 2012.
