Val Thorens United video
Val Thorens has released the full-length (2min36) version of its Val Thorens United video. It had previously released a 'teaser' version (1min15). The film is to promote the resort's new theme, Val Thorens United, which is the result of the tourist office's work on 'brand positioning'.
The video features helicopter shots of Val Thorens, and snowshoe walks, tobogganing, and skiing. The skiers range from beginners, to the local 'race kids', and thrill-seekers off piste. We think we recognised the rock at the top of the Combe sans Nom, in one of the off-piste sequences.
Some of the well-known faces from Val Thorens are in there - freestyle skier Antoine Diet, racer Timi Théaux, as well as Val Thorens pioneer Camille Rey and his daughter Marjo, and Michelin-starred chef Jean Sulpice.
Some non-skiing activities are shown too. The Folie Douce makes an appearance, as does the yurt by the Chalet de la Marine. The film finishes up with Chinese laterns being released, at the end of a torchlit descent.
