Hotel le Val Thorens
The Hotel Val Thorens is right in the centre of resort. It was probably the top 3 star hotel in Val Thorens, before it was refurbished over summer 2012. It re-opened in winter 2012/13 as a 4 star.
Apart from the re-decoration throughout, the hotel has added a spa area, with swimming pool, to bring it up to the standard of the other 4 stars in resort.

Hotel Val Thorens: location
Since it's right in the centre of resort, the Hotel Val Thorens is in easy reach of all the shops, cafes and bars. It's very close to the tourist office, and the main ski school office, and it's also right on the piste - you emerge from the ski room onto the snow in the place Caron.
Hotel Val Thorens: rooms and restaurants
It has 81 bedrooms, all with balcony, free wifi, flat-screen TVs, and safe. The rooms have Scandinvian pine furniture (presumably not from Ikea!). You can hire iPods and iPads at reception, for music and films.
Breakfast is in the main restaurant (Le Val Thorens), as is dinner for those on half-board, but you can swap your dinner to the speciality restaurant, La Fondue, for one or more evenings.

There's a comfortable bar, with several seating areas, and a real fire.
Hotel Val Thorens: spa
The spa area is the main additional attraction of the hotel, following the renovation.
There's a swimming pool, sauna, and Turkish bath, open from 10am to 7pm. These are free, and open to hotel guests only. There are also beauty treatments and massages at an extra charge (10-12 and 14-19.30), available to anyone.
The pool is right by the piste, so you look out onto skiers, snowboarders, and a view of the mountains.
